One of the most popular event in Europe, Copenhagen Games will take place from 21st to 23rd April. In contrast to the previous edition of the event this year in Copenhagen we can expect the elite of the European Counter-Strike. Probably more than 700 gamers from many countries will concentrate in Øksnehallen (Copenhagen ofc). The main sponsors are: Sennheiser (:D), Roccat, Sandberg and... Earpollution :). On the gratuities for the best players spent 47,000 euros!!! The competition is addressed to players of Counter-Strike, StarCraft II, and... Counter-Strike: Source. Of course we will see many, many other games like Fifa, Heroes of newerth, Battlefield or mobile games :) The main activity at this event is of course the gaming tournaments. Besides the great main BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) tournaments there will be tournaments for people coming in from the street. You must be there!
The amount of rewards at Copenhagen Games 2011:
Counter-Strike 1.6 - 20.120 euro
Counter-Strike: Source - 20.120 euro
StarCraft II - 6.700 euro
As we can see the young brother of CS 1.6 , CS Source equaled with him. In Europe are more and more organized tournaments ,where CSS is the main game. Could it be the successor legendary CS 1.6? Maybe. We remember the situation after a few weeks ago, when the French section of ESL directors decided to remove CS from the EPS (European Pro Series) list of games , giving the place for CSS. We only know one thing: if CS Source overtakes the popularity of CS 1.6, this will be the revolution for FPS's e-sport.
And you, what do you think about CSS? Is he worse\better than Counter Strike 1.6??

If I was anywhere near copenhagen I would go but unfortunately I'm not. I'd love to watch a gaming tournament
ReplyDeleteYeah me to, all the cool things happen out of my reach
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many people actually make their living doing this? It is athleticism of the brain, so in my opinion is just as valid as some guy that can kick a ball around...
ReplyDeleteI'd also love to watch this. Is it streamed by any chance?
ReplyDeletesweet, i remember i used to play css when it was in beta - 1.6 is still better
ReplyDeleteI never liked to watch someone else playing a game no matter how good he is. I prefer playing them myself.
ReplyDeletecant believe people still play original CS
